Dago Highland Trip @ 26-28 Oct 2012

Hi... everyone....

It's me again, I'm back with my late vacation trip story at Dago Highland Resort Hotel, Bandung (West Java, Indonesia), because this family trip was happened on 26-28 Oct 2012, hehehe....

Just like usual, I got my hotel voucher with great discount promo, hahaha....
I like this hotel at the beginning just because of the picture they upload at one of the biggest online store that comes with their discount promotion, it's located at Dago Pakar, one of the highest area in Bandung, and one the interesting point was you can see all bandung city from the hotel.

We began our Journey @ 8am in the morning on Oct 26th, 2012. It was quite a long journey from Jakarta to Bandung via Cipularang Highway, it took approximately 3,5 hours drive, and we arrive at the hotel around 12 pm noon. The access road towards the hotel was very sheer and a bit confusing due to it's location was far from the main road. But while we arrived, the view was amazing. The hotel looks old and less maintenance, the room was quite big with a bathtub inside the bath room, but there was lots of cracks all over the bathroom wall as well as the furnitures. A bit disappointing cause the room was not as we expected, but the view was amazing, and the pool also great with a clear and cold water inside.

After took some pictures at the hotel, we directly went out the hotel to CocoRico Cafe for lunch, located only 5 minutes drive from the hotel, next the famous Sierra Cafe @ Dago. The cafe was very cozy, there was a small fish pond inside the cafe, the weather was very cool inside and outside the cafe. We ordered a fried noodle for the children, for me and my wife, we had a Green Chili Duck Rice (Nasi Bebek Sambel Ijo) and a Pepperoni Pizza. The food was great, which also came with 30% discount promo with credit card payment, hehehehe....

After finish our lunch, we went back to hotel to enjoy the swimming pool with the kids. We took a nap afterward, and went out to jl. gardujati at night to find our dinner.

Jl. Gardujati is very famous if you want to find local bandung dishes at night, they are available along the streets from Yamien (local chicken noodle), Nasi Campur (Pork Mixed Rice), Kuotie (Fried Wantan), Wedang Ronde Jahe ( A traditional ginger drink with rice flour balls and peanuts stuffed), Nasi Goreng Tek Tek (Local Fried Rice), Fresh Orange Juice, to Bola Ubi (Fried ball made from sweet potato).

We decided to take away the foods and had our dinner back at the hotel because it was very crowded. We had yamien, bola ubi, fried rice, and fresh orange juice for our dinner, quite a lot yach... hahaha....

The next day in the morning, we woke up at 6.30 am, great weather, it was very cool and great fresh air.  We took a little walk around the hotel and had a breakfast afterward. The breakfast buffet was at Kayu Manis Restaurant, the hotel's coffee shop. The food was less variety, but it tasted quite delicious. the best part was, we had our bfast table at the outside part of the restaurant, the view was amazing in the morning, and the weather was still foggy, it was awesome.

By the time we finished our bfast, took a bath, then we straight forward went to Happy Farm, a strawberry farm complex at Lembang, North Bandung. I knew this place also from uncle google, hehehe... The farm was not too big in size, but the facility was quite recommended. There was a line of food stall, rabbit feeding area, horses, small becak for the kids, and a small fishing pond. The strawberry farm was awesome, there was lots of strawberry hanging on the tree, and we decided to pick our own strawberries with the kids. After that, my son asked me to fish at the small fishing pond there. The price was cheap, we only need to pay Rp 10.000,- to catch the fishes in 15 minutes time, and we can brought max 3 of our catches. It was so fun. Hahaha....

Tired had fun at the happy farm, my kids was fall asleep during our drive back to Bandung city, our next destination was the famous factory outlet area at jl. juanda, Dago. Nothing special inside all the outlets, we bought nothing at all, the price also quite expensive, not like as we expected. We moved forward to jl. gardujati again, to take away our dinner, same menu like yesterday, as our favorite dinner in Bandung, hehehehe..... Then we went back to hotel to had a rest after a full fun day, hahaha....

The next morning, we woke up a bit later around 8.30am, then had our bfast, lied down on bed while we waiting the check out time. then we headed back to Jakarta and arrive approximately at 7pm at night.

Nice 3days 2nights Bandung trip, very very tired, but it was refreshing a lot, it was a great family time for us.
